YOU KNOW YOU ARE IN UNIVERSITY WHEN:

·        You hate being asked the “How`s it going with your studies?”-question.

·        You are constantly complaining that the university`s system was invented
·        with the sole purpose of tormenting you and making your life miserable.

·        As prepared and informed about your degree as you thought you were, there are always surprises. Like that class you had no idea you had to take…

·        You take an instant dislike to people who listen during lectures and frequently ask questions. Because it`s mean to try and show off in front of a crowd that doesn`t even have a clue what the topic is.

·        Sooner or later(meaning before finals week or during) you realize you too should have paid attention in class and probably asked questions. Because the course book is in some sort of elvish.

·        You believe the best time to study for an exam is a couple of days/nights/hours before it.

·        You begin calculating the minimum points needed to pass as soon as the professor announces the grading system.

·        You talk about wanting to find a job or an internship, but that would require you to do something other than wasting your time on the Internet, so you`re not rushing the search.

·        When you don`t have anything else to say in a conversation with a colleague you ask: “So what classes are you taking this semester?”

·        You can`t force yourself to study unless you`ve eaten, watched all the possible TV shows, cleaned your place and made sure no one wants to hang out.

·        There`s no such thing as being late to class, you`ve simply skipped some 20 boring minutes.

·        Eating is either something you do when you`re bored or a luxury at the end of the week/month.

Some of the thing I`ve learned in life so far...

Coffee

If one cup of coffee is not enough, two won`t make you feel btter/more awake/ready to work. Because after the second one, the idea of a third coffee seems tempting. And after it you can do anything, exept for the things you`re supposed to do.Or you will feel sleepy, but since you`ve had three cups of coffee falling asleep will be physically impossible and probably not the most reasonable option.
Note to students before finals week: Next time you promise yourself you`re going to start studying earlier, do it, or else there will be consequences. Like the coffee situation...

Home sweet home

No matter how much you wanted to move out as a teenager, once you take this step it`s inevitable to want to go back home for some time every once in a while.
I mean, come on - there is always food, someone else(mom) does the laundry and the cleaning.Plus, the entire atmosphere reminds you of the times when you were a kid/teenager and the things you used to worry about now seem funny compared to the problems you have to deal with today.

Tollerance

As tollerant and open-minded as you might be, living in a big city with a lot of different nationalities will inevitably make you less inclined to put up with cultural differences. Listening to loud conversations in an unknown language from the table accross or in the subway gets old really fast. Now imagine if the whole thing is combined with laughter and strange looks at you.
Not to mention the judging looks one can get for their looks,if their appearance doesn`t match somebody`s moral standards. So aftermath: you start wondering "How can i tollerate someone who can only show understanding for their own culture?" You simply can`t.

"Better safe than sorry"

Check things. Double check things. And by things i mean expiration dates on the milk box, facts you use in arguments, dates on tickets, the alarm before going to bed. Why? Because of the consequences. If you don`t concider it important, try leaving the milk in the fridge for 4 weeks or show up at the airport 40min. later to see what happens.
Whoever came up with "Better safe than sorry" had obviously been sorry one too many times.

"Last moment" inspiration

Last moment things always turn out to be the best. And i don`t only mean meeting someone 5min. after you`ve arranged it or deciding on doing something new and just starting it.Last moment school or work projects are the best you can make. Sure, taking your time, collecting information and prepairing things can help you succeed, but nothing is more motivating than that last night before the deadline. You can`t postpone it anymore,so facing failure you become productive and probably more creative than ever( stress helps improve brain performance).
But still... not everybody is good at that, you have to be born lazy...

Trouble

Problems multiply.Just like bacteria. You wake up one day, something bad happens or someone causes you trouble and there it goes. All sorts of small things start going wrong. It`s like everything and everyone in the universe is against you.
You`ve overslept and trying to make coffee, but hey - there`s no coffee left,or even better: the coffee machine breaks down. You are in a hurry to leave,so you lock yourself out with the keys on some shelf inside.
You realise your project deadline  is tomorrow and you have barely done anything about it - you get a surprise test or extra work in class.
It`s just like that and it can`t really be explained. The only thing i can think of: yo u face a problem, you get mad,so you "load"yourself with negative energy and all the bad stuff is like: "Hey look at that guy, I can tell he`s ready for us. Let`s go his way!"

Information

No one ever tells you what you need to know. And what you need to know is usually that there are a lot of extra things that you are obliged to do or are responsible for.
So by not doing them you get into trouble, don`t get what you were supposed to or never actually graduate withing the six semesters deceivingly announced on your university`s webpage.
Therefore, one of the most useful thing in life you should learn to do is ask questions(of course not stupid ones!).

Déjà vu
